"In Person" and "Christmas Kitty"

I watched "In Person" on YouTube under "GR (1935)" this afternoon because I've got the flu.  :(     Not fun to be sick on Christmas!!!  I still had a pretty good Christmas overall, though.  Thankfully, I didn't feel that bad compared to the other days.  But, I did get some "Gingery" items for Christmas like the Life magazine that has her fishing on her ranch and the complete Fred and Ginger box set.  :D  I was quite happy.  I hope you'all had a great Christmas as well.  Mine is not quite over yet, though.  I get to go over to my grandparents house on New Years Eve.  I know my cuz and I are planning to stay up all night and maybe sneak in a few Ginger movies if the boys don't mind (or if they do) :).  I think I might be pulling my cuz into the "Ginger Addiction" thing as well.  ;)   There is also this little "Christmas Kitty", who has been on my front porch since Christmas Eve Eve.  My little bro and I named him Ulysses.  He's quite cute and very friendly, but he's had to stay outside on my porch becasuse I don't want my indoor cats, Archie and Henrietta to fight with him, (I honestly don't think they would, but I'm not taking any chances.)  Well, we all know how much Ginger loved cats so I thought I would post one of my favorite "Ginger with Kitty" photos in honor of this new friend at my door.

I just love that photo.:)  It's been a favorite since I first became a fan of GR.  Maybe I could do a "Ginger Pet Pics" post sometime.  I see none of you know the answer to the dress color question. I suppose I will have to do a little research to find out.  Well, that's all for this post.

The Major and the Minor dresses and poll

Last night I watched "The Major and the Minor."  I noticed, for the first time, the many beautiful dresses.   I looked up the poster on the internet and saw in the poster that one of gorgeous dresses she wears in the film is depicted as an orange color.  The other pictures that I have seen of this dress have been green.  Do any of you all know what the actual color of that dress is?

Now...the first Classic Gal poll.  Of the many pretty dresses in the film, which do you like best?

The stunning white suit...
The "beguiling" orange or green dress...

Or the simple, yet sweet dress

That's one of my favorite photos.  Wonder what Smokey was doing on the set, though...  Pleae vote on this poll!

"The Shop Around the Corner"

Well, last night I finished watching "The Shop Around the Corner." Pretty cute movie.  Magaret Sullavan and Jimmy Stewart display great chemistry together, and I love the scene in which Margaret Sullavan, (Klara Novak) tries to sell the cigarette box to a customer.  The last scene is great as well when Jimmy finally tells her he had been the writer of the letters, which she had loved to open and read as soon as she received them.  My favorite line would probably be the one at the end when Jimmy Stewart tells her, " Now open me up and kiss me."
Well, I was wondering how this would relate to Miss GR. The only thing I came up with was that Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullavan were great friends of Ginger's.  Maggie Sullavan married Leland Hayward, which was Ginger's agent.  GR talks about a chapter in her autobiography, "A Bear Escape" in which Maggie Sullavan threw a sandwich out to a bear on their way up to visit Ginger's ranch. Apparently, the meat flew out of the sandwich and landed right below the window of their car. The bear proceeded to eat the ham and for a fraction of a second Magaret's nose and the bear's face were only inches apart.  They couldn't roll up the window because a 300 lb. bear was on top of it.  The bear then jumped onto the top of the car, and Mother Lela zoomed away across the snow.  Ginger says that Lela was quite mad at Maggie Sullavan.
That's all for this post.  I found a few GR Christmas photos that I will try to post next time.

Well, this is the first "Classic Gal" post, I suppose.  I thought while I was on my Christmas break I'd make a blog so...here it is!  You'll probably see a lot of classic photos and what not pop up now and then, especially some Ginger Rogers photos since I think she's fabulous!!! So pretty much this blog is all about her.:)  Because she's...
                                                                         1. Sassy
.

2. Sporty

3.  Beautiful

4.  Just like us ;)

5.  A fabulous dancer

6.  Just Fabulous!
There's lots more reasons why she's great, too.  (I'll get to those on a diferent day:).   I know all you Ginger fans have probably seen all those photos before, but for those "Newbie Ginger Fans"  those are some of my favorites of her.   Well, I guess that will do for the first, "Classic Gal" blog post.  I'll try to post some more unique photos next time.
